Annual event focusing on Hawaii fashion expected to draw 2,000 visitors Waikiki, Hawaii (May 27,2013) ‐ Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi), an organization
that promotes Hawaii fashion, has been invited to participate in the first annual Hawaiian May! sponsored by JTB and Hawaii Tourism Japan(HTJ).


Hawaiian May! consists of 5 events over the course of 3 days, including a fashion show with special guest Paris Hilton and a Food Summit event on May 30th.



The Food Summit will feature food trucks from Eat the Street and booths featuring local Hawaii designers. Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi) will have a large pop‐up store featuring 14 of its member designers and interactive DIY displays.


Featured Hifi designers will include:
‐ Aloha Sand Company, a handmade t‐shirt line that uses a patent‐pending process to adhere real Hawaiian sand to fabric.

‐ Allison Izu – Custom made rayon t‐shirts where customers can select their own pockets, made out of Hawaiian fabric in different colors and shapes, and have them sewn on while they wait.

‐ Lauren Roth – Hand painted whimsical designs on a variety of items including trucker hats, shirts and wood blocks. Roth will be painting live at the event.

‐ Fashioned by Roberta Rath Cullen – Handmade memory wire jewelry with brightly colored beading and pearls.

‐ Twisted Cuts – Edgy deconstructed t-shirts. The designer will perform a live t-shirt cutting on stage at 7:15 p.m., and throughout the day will cut custom t-shirts in the Hifi

Hawaii Fashion Incubator is a 7 year old organization that promotes and supports
Hawaii fashion through building community and providing resources to the growing
industry. The Hifi COOP at Ward Warehouse is Hawaii's first fashion incubator and
provides workspace, event space, a local design boutique, classes, photography,
equipment, and more. Hifi's network reaches more than 3,000 members of Hawaii's
