Rhythm Workshop ~Feel The Groove!~
TakadimiTakadimiPah... Don’t ask, just listen, you have to hear it to believe it. Grab your passports and join World Music Legend, GLEN VELEZ, and acclaimed Rhythm Jazz Vocalist, LOIRE COTLER, on a journey inspired by music from six continents.
We will go deep into World grooves and celebrate the rejuvenating qualities of being in rhythm together, while discovering the power of deep breathing to calm our minds and energize our bodies. The human story always starts with a heartbeat and GLEN and LOIRE set this story in motion with their super-human capacity to deliver the unimaginable in an exhilarating concert exploring the astonishing power of the voice as a rhythm instrument and a mystical symphony produced from a single-headed drum. All are welcome!
Sounding Joy Music Therapy.Inc
established in 2002, is the only 501(c)3 non-profit organization to promote music therapy in Hawaii. It was founded in response to strong public demands for music therapy from the people of diverse communities in Hawaii. Sounding Joy believes the power of music transforms lives.
Our mission is to increase accessibility to music therapy, educate the public about its benefits, and advance its research and studies in Hawaii. Supported by public donations and government grants, and collaborating with hundreds of local schools, hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, and other programs, Sounding Joy has provided clinical services to 2,000 of Hawaii's most vulnerable citizens, and provided education to more than 55,000 people.
Our work has also included participation in national and international conferences, student and professional exchanges, and efforts to establish the first-ever Music Therapy degree program in Hawaii. Sounding Joy has received numerous awards and recognitions from the Governor, the State Senate and House of Representatives, and the Mayor of Honolulu for its outstanding contributions to our community.
